I just returned from vacation in Puerto Vallarta. I had a great time! It was so relaxing to be away from everything. The weather was perfect, the beach was beautiful and the people were very nice.

Being on a beach gave me an opportunity to do something that I've wanted to do for quite a while; assemble a collection of sand and water textures. I spent a little of each day walking around with my Canon S3 IS taking pictures of various objects and after all was said and done, I took over 400 photos.

It's going to take me a little while to process all these photos and figure out which ones are good, which ones are bad and which ones can be fixed. This means I'm going to release them in sets. I've broken them up into categories and will release one category a week until they are all online.

Each photo is available in its native 2816 x 2112 pixel resolution. I haven't made any major adjustments to these textures because I wanted you guys to have as much control over each texture as possible and I felt modifying them would limit your options.

You may use these textures in any way you like. There are only three rules. 1) You may not sell these textures to others; 2) You may not distribute these textures; 3) If you can, show me the end result of your work. I'd love to see what you guys do with them.

I hope that you all enjoy these textures and I'm glad that my vacation offered me the opportunity to capture these images so I could offer them to you absolutely free.

Thank you for your generosity with regard to the pictures.

Most of us don't have (make?) the time to get out and take these, and many of us also wouldn't have the photographic skills to do so. Much appreciated :)
