Render an Anime Influenced Fashion Sketch
I found this really great set of fashion sketching demonstrations by Kathryn Hagen, a fashion illustration instructor at Otis College. Ms. Hagen is a master at mixing media to achieve life-like and beautiful results. Her tools include copic markers, prismacolor pencils, tombo brush pens, gouache, liner pens and milky gel pens.
Her book, Fashion Illustration for Designers includes a dvd packed with tons of videos just like the ones below. Even if you don’t study fashion her book is an excellent resource for improving your drawing and design skills. I highly recommend this book for anyone interested in learning how to sketch or draw.

I took a good long look at the various renderings,and have come to the conclusion that it is about time someone actually showed others just how it is done.I worked as a fashion artist all over the country and have a frist class education(Parsons)but I -don’t really recall actually seeing my instructors actually do a finished cut.While watching the youtube videos I was thinking no!don’t lay your shadows down there!But it turned out absolutely correctly done.The one suggestion that still holds true today-which is why so many life classes are given is correct. You must know how to draw a figure before you can add highlights and shadows.
