Case Study: The Design of the New Colorburned Website
As you guys know, last week we unveiled a new design for this website. The process of designing a new site literally took months to do. I have very high standards when it comes to designing graphics for myself and I had to balance my time with other projects that came down the pipe. Needless to say, that when it came time to code the site into HTML and then implement it into a blogging platform, I was exhausted and a bit overwhelmed.
I am by no means an expert coder. I’m more visual, so when it’s time to do the PSD to HTML I tend to rely on experts to do the work. When I initially launched this website I turned to Lisa Sabin-Wilson, the author of Wordpress for Dummies and founder of E.Webscapes to help me with the PSD to HTML and implementation. So when it was time to launch the new site, I turned to her again.
Last week, Lisa wrote a fantastic article detailing the steps that she used code this website. It is definitely worth a read if you are into blog design.
Also, if you need help implementing your blog ideas consider using E.Webscapes the next time you have a blog that you need launched. I have been very impressed with Lisa’s work and would recommend her highly to anyone who could use a hand.

Thanks for the mention, Grant! Your project was really a lot of fun for me with all of the different features, and such. Your graphic design is superb, as always – and that always makes for a pleasant experience. Moving you off Movable Type to WordPress was a bonus!
Thanks for the opportunity to help put Colorburned together – you have a really fantastic site!
Nice work Grant, as an avid reader this is an amazing refresh. Kudos to Lisa and I’ll be sure to look into those services also.
Thanks for great share!
