Update: Win a Free Business Account From BaseKit (x3)

As a designer, you’ll have to create your own website at some point in your career. A website is an important aspect of any business and is something most designers spend quite a bit of time on. Unfortunately, many designers aren’t expert web designers. Some may know code very well; but others may be illustrators, print designers, or photographers; and let’s face it, our time is always limited. That’s why today, our friends from BaseKit have come to the rescue and are giving away a free 1-Year Business Plan ($240 value) to 3 lucky readers of this website.

Update: Congratulations to Esz, Karen Hall, TRY! You have all won a free business account from BaseKit!

BaseKit is a website builder that allows you to create professional websites from within your browser. You don’t need any technical skills and there are loads of templates and widgets that you can use to create your own business website design. Simply choose how you want your site to look, add your content and publish.

Some of you may be wondering what makes BaseKit different from all the other website builders out there. In the past, other website builders relied on flash as a platform to build their sites. Those sites tended to be a bit clunky. BaseKit changes all that and is fully HTML which means they work on all devices – even mobile phones. To learn more about BaseKit, visit their website.

To enter to win a free Business Plan from BaseKit, all you have to do is leave a comment below and tell us what you would use BaseKit for.

It would allow Thinglet Software to offer great design with turnkey solutions without charging a premium for 100% custom development, allowing us to help more people!

I am an entrepreneur at heart and want to see others succeed in their own businesses. I have helped build websites for others in the past, but have never had a “phenomenal” tool to put together an amazing site for someone.

This is really sweet! I would use it to build a site for my portfolio as well as implementing my blog into it. I am only a student for now so it will be essential in helping me prepare for “the real world”.

I would be able to use this as a way to framework my websites from low fidelity to high fidelity and help me give an idea what my design will look like as I flesh it out over time. Of course, if I need to I could use it as a teaching tool for those looking to build websites without all the hassle.

Would LOVE to be able to tidy up my website and put up a proper portfolio that isn’t just my blog. :-D

As a, soon to graduate graphic design, student I would use it to get independent work. And to advertise myself, I might be offered a job! It would also be my portfolio. Thanks for the opportunity!

Woah, very nice. With BaseKit, my mother who is just mastering email can make Smashing Magazine caliber sites. In short, I’m floored.

I´m a skilled graphic designer but only on print. Never seem to have the time to put a nice portefolio together. Have been messing around with wordpress and others, but would like to try BaseKit. Maybe this is what I´ve been looking for…
Hope to win one of the three give aways :-)

I would be a great boost to someone (me) who has focused mainly on print his entire career. The learning curve is a big & daunting one for someone not schooled in Web Design! Love your site btw!

I will use for my business website. It’s great for showcasing our work and images.

In order to compete, I must be able to show my apparel portfolio digitally. In order to launch an online sales presence, I need a web site. And I need to know how to manage those tools to support updates to content and mood. I am eager to learn and would welcome your guidance.

  20. September 19, 2011

I will use it to create a portfolio of my work and services.

  21. September 19, 2011

I’d use it to experiment and make a website for art experiments!

  22. September 19, 2011

I will build a full featured site for a needy non-profit, here in my community, that cannot afford to hire a web developer. Once the build is done I would then train and handover the website to them to use!
