50 Examples of South American Street Art

Graffiti is often considered a nuisance or crime but in some circumstances graffiti can be as beautiful and artistic as any painting found in any art gallery. During my last vacation to Rio de Janeiro I took several pictures of graffiti as I walked the streets. In this article, I will present 50 works of graffiti found in Rio as well as some works in my native Santiago, Chile. Hopefully, this South American Street Art will inspire you as it has me. Enjoy!

Beautiful work done on the walls. Street art is really a very hard media. painting on large walls seems so hard and tiring.
I enjoyed viewing all these images.
    Thanks for sharing Pablo.

I’ve noticed that South American and Latin Street art use strong vibrant, bright colors and I’ve always been drawn in and fascinated by this, its actually something I see in designers from that part of the world as well, their work also tends to feel more organic too. Great collection of works and great post!

I’ve been revisiting the work of some of these artist quite a bit, the style and the vivid colors and attention to detail is very inspirational, especially for some of the illustration work I want to advance. Great collection.
