In this piece, I wanted to see what would happen if I formed some glass-like elements into a spiral. This original document was created as a 24 x 24 inch document but I scaled it down to 18 x 24 for the online version. Needless to say each file save took nearly five minutes.
This is another experimental pattern. This time I wanted to see how shapes moving in random perpendicular directions would interact with each other.
This was an experimental piece I designed using some new techniques that I developed dealing with basic shapes.
This is one of my all time favorite pieces. I love how all the shapes and colors interact with one another.
For some reason this piece reminds me of Star Wars. It reminds me of some of those infinitely long falls that seemed to occur so frequently in those films.
In this starburst I embedded the shape of a flower.
I was attempting to design a new logo for this site. Somehow this design happened by accident.
I find flower petals to be beautifully symmetrical. A lot of my designs use this kind of symmetry in them. In this piece, I used flower petals shapes and textures to create an 18 x 24 inch design.
In this piece I wanted to experiment with some patterns and overlays. I wanted to create a retro 80's video game effect.
This is an experimental piece based off an earlier design. In this design I bent the lines into zig zags.
This is an experimental piece dealing with diagonal lines.
This piece was the result of some experimentation with some techniques used to create starbursts.
This piece was a continuation of my earlier experiment with lines and patterns based on the winner of Veerle's "What is Graphic Design?" Contest. This time I chose an alternative color scheme and added some movement in the pattern.
I've wanted to do a plaid piece for some time. Occasionally, while shopping I've come across some crazy patterns in the department store. While you wouldn't catch me dead wearing most of them, I am amazed at their detail. This piece was based off of the winner of Veerle's "What is Graphic Design?" Contest. I found the patterns and composition of the piece to be amazing and I thought I'd try to reproduce the effect.
